The Northern Sea Route is the first of the major priorities of the country

The Northern Sea Route, seaports, regional aircraft, BAM, Transsiberian and other transit corridors are the main priorities for development. This was stated by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in his annual address to the Federal Assembly.

The President stressed that «all this is necessary not only to think over all this need to work hard». According to the president, it is necessary to ensure in the full sense the transport connectivity, the unity of the entire Russian territory.

Recall that in the draft of the Transport Strategy of Russia until 2030, prepared by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, it’s said that the development of the Northern Sea Route will be important for commercial traffic, hence it’s necessary to establish an appropriate infrastructure on the northern coast of Russia.

According to forecasts of agency, the volume of freight traffic on the Northern Sea Route in 2020 will reach 40 million tons, and by 2030 will rise to 70 million tons.
